New praedial larceny prevention officer appointed
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has appointed a new praedial larceny prevention officer to address the crime, which costs farmers more than $6 billion annually.
He is Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis.
The JCF says he will be responsible for leading the national effort in protecting the farmers from praedial larceny through collaboration, information sharing and security innovation.
He will be supported by Sergeant Damion Harry of the St Thomas Police Division.
The two policemen will work fulltime from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The appointment of a national praedial larceny prevention officer is part of the JCF’s Praedial Larceny Prevention Strategy that has been implemented in all parishes.
